Description
Cymbidium orchids, or boat orchids, are evergreen, sympodial plants admired for their bright, long-lasting blooms and low-maintenance nature. Native to tropical and subtropical Asia and parts of Australia, including the Himalayas, these orchids grow from pseudobulbs that sprout leaves and flower spikes. Each pseudobulb typically has 3–12 leaves arranged in two neat rows, with flowers emerging from the base on unbranched spikes. The blooms have three sepals, two petals, and a striking labellum, often accented with richer colors than the rest of the flower.
